Prisoners assault jail official in Karnataka

A district Jail Superintendent was seriously injured on Saturday when he was allegedly assaulted by three prisoners while conducting a search inside a prison here, police said.

allegedly assaulted by three prisoners while conducting a
search inside a prison here, police said.
Krishnamurthy, the jailor, suffered head injury when he
was attacked during the search, which was conducted after a
mobile phone was found inside the prison premises,
Superintendent of Police Praveen Pawar told reporters.
The prisoners involved in the attack were Mastrhaan Ali,
sentenced in a church bomb blast case, and murder convicts
Mysore Manju and Gayasuddin, police said.

Parwar said a case had been registered in this
connection.
