Bellary: Bomb disposal experts today
defused seven crude bombs planted inside a plastic pipe and
placed behind the house of a person contesting the coming
Karnataka Gram Panchayat polls at Chellakurki village, 70 km
from here.
After the bombs were found, experts were summoned from
Bangalore and they defused it, SP M N Nagaraj told reporters.
Nagaraj ruled out the hand of Naxals and terror groups
in the incident, which he described as a fallout of political
rivalry.
Yerri Swamy who is contesting the polls has complained
to police against five persons, who, he said, had been
threatening him to pull out of the contest.
No one has been arrested in this connection, Nagaraj
said.
