Bangalore: Setting aside his strained
relations with the Governor, Karnataka Chief Minister BS
Yeddyurappa on Saturday called on HR Bhardwaj and exchanged
pleasantries on the occasion of Holi.

Yeddyurappa told reporters outside Raj Bhavan that he
met the Governor to greet him on the occasion of Holi
festival.

A majority of MLAs and ministers stayed away from a
breakfast meeting called by Yeddyurappa here yesterday to
demonstrate his strength, causing embarrassment to him.

On Republic Day this year, in an apparent snub to H R
Bhardwaj, Yeddyurappa and his cabinet colleagues had stayed
away from the customary `At Home` hosted by the Governor amid
the ongoing bitter political battle between the two.

After the meeting today, Yeddyurappa said he would leave
for New Delhi tomorrow and meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
on March 21 to press for constitutional amendment under
article 371 for the development of backward
`Hyderabad-Karnataka` Region, which comprises comprises Bidar,
Gulbarga and Raichur districts.

He said he would also meet Finance Minister Pranab
Mukherjee and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to plead for
increasing support price of Areca, to help growers.

Rebels in BJP had planned a trip to Delhi to complain
against the style of functioning by Yeddyurappa, but decided
to put off it till election in five states was completed.
