24x7 call centre in Kerala CM`s office

Thiruvananthapuram: A 24x7 call centre
started functioning in the office of Kerala Chief Minister
Oommen Chandy on Thursday, through which people from any part of the
world can seek redressal for their grievances or make
suggestions by dialling a toll-free number.

This is the first such facility set up in any state in
the country, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister`s Office
here said.

The call centre was launched by Chandy who attended to a
couple of calls and promised callers quick action on their
grievances.

Under the system, anybody can dial `1076` from BSNL
phones to reach the CMO. The toll-free number to be dialled
from phones of other service providers is 1800-425-1076. Those
living abroad could tap the service by calling 0471 1076.

Complaints received would be referred to officials
concerned for quick action and the person who made the
complaint would be given a docket number for future
references.

If action is not taken on each grievance within a month,
the caller could get back to the Chief Minister to find the
status of his grievance and reasons for the delay.

"It may not be possible to solve all grievances. In case
it is difficult to solve the grievance of somebody, he or she
will be convinced of the reasons for that," CMO sources said.

After coming to power in May, Chandy has introduced total
web casting of the functioning of his office to ensure
transparency in administration with the help of Information
and Communication Technology.
