80 persons fall ill after taking food at temple festival

About 80 persons were today admitted to a hospital here for suspected food poisoning after having food at a temple ceremony organised as a part of a festival, officials said. Their condition was not serious, officials said.

    Thiruvananthapuram: About 80 persons were today admitted to a hospital here for suspected food poisoning after having food at a temple ceremony organised as a part of a festival, officials said. Their condition was not serious, officials said.

    The 'Annadhanam' (offering of food) ceremony was organised as part of the temple festival at Kanyakulagara near here.

    State Health Minister V Sivakumar visited those admitted at the Medical College Hospital and said necessary arrangements had been made to provide treatment to them.

     The reasons that caused food poisoning would be examined, Sivakumar said.
