Thrissur: About 550 kg of ammonium nitrate, used as an oxidising agent in explosives, has been seized from a car at nearby Mannuthy and three persons arrested, police said on Thursday.
Police intercepted the car which was on its way to Malappuram from Palakkad, last night, and found 11 sacks each containing 50 kg of the contraband.
The three car passengers, all hailing from Malappuram, were arrested, police added.
