Addressing an election convention of M V Jayarajan, CPI-M
candidate for the Kannur assembly constituency, he charged
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had gone back from the promise
given to Kerala that its concerns over ASEAN pact would be
allayed.

The FTA would break the backbone of Kerala`s economy which
was sustained by cash crops and it was also a blow to millions
of small and marginal farmers, he alleged.
