Kozhikode: Former BJP Kerala President
P S Sreedharan Pillai today demanded a CBI or NIA inquiry into
the carnage in which nine persons were killed at Marad near
here on May 2003.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Pillai asked whether UDF
Government led by Oommen Chandy, Indian Union Muslim League
leader P K Kunhalikutty and CPI(M) would be prepared to order
CBI or NIA probe into the massacre.
Pillai alleged that both the UDF government and opposition
LDF were responsible for sabotaging a probe by CBI.
The IUML, the second largest partner in the UDF, along with
Congress, had earlier taken a strong stand against a CBI
probe, he alleged.
He criticised the CPI(M) Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan for
accusing the then BJP Government at the Centre for not
ordering such a probe and alleged that the party was engaging
in a false propaganda.
