CAG expose corruption in government offices:CM

Speaking at the 150th year celebration of CAG here, Chief Minister said Raja had to resign after CAG brought out the irregularities in the process.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Tuesday said Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has an important role in exposing irregularities in government sector and resignation of Union Minister A Raja in the wake of 2G spectrum scam was the latest in the regard.

Speaking at the 150th year celebration of CAG here, Chief
Minister said Raja had to resign after CAG brought out the
irregularities in the process.

CAG had pointed out that 2G spectrum allocation had resulted
in a loss of Rs.1.75 lakh crores to the country, he said.

CAG function as a strong resistence force against wrongdoings and
looting of public funds, he said.

Employees of CAG also have a great responsibility as the
institution have to function impartially and without fear,
Achuthanandan said.
