Kottayam: Hitting back at his political
detractors who have raised corruption charges against his son
V A Arun Kumar, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Friday
said the government was ready to order an enquiry if adequate
proof was produced.
"If these people who raise these allegations come out with
necessary evidence, an enquiry would be ordered immediately,"
Achuthanandan told reporters` queries here.
"A probe will be ordered against those facing charges,
even if it is my son or any relative, if necessary proof was
produced by the Opposition," he said.
Achuthanandan said his office or party connections would
not come in the way of ordering an investigation and
punishing the guilty.
The UDF leaders have alleged that Arun Kumar had received
bribe from the sandalwood mafia in 2003 and recently tried to
sabotage CBI probe into the irregularities in the operation of
Bhutan lotteries in the state.
They also alleged that the Chief Minister`s son was
involved in the `Smart City` IT project deal clinched recently
between Kerala government and Dubai-based TECOM.
