Thiruvananthapuram: Congress party in Kerala
On Monday lashed out at Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and the
CPI-M for sparking a row over Prime Minister Manmohan Singh`s
recent vist to Kerla which led to the adoption of a resolution
by the state assembly alleging that the state government was
slighted on the occasion.
"They are blowing silly things out of proportion. I pity
them.Congress strongly deplores this campaign seeking to make
an issue out of non-issues", KPCC president Ramesh Cehnnithala
told a press meet here.
This broadside against the Prime Minister`s visit betrayed
the CM`s and CPI-M`s intolerance and also their apprehensions
over big project becoming a reality, he said.
The LDF Government should have thanked the Prime Minister
and Defence Minister A K Antony for bringing such big projects
to the state instead of unleashing totally unfounded
allegations, Chennithala said.
The Congress party would strongly counter this vilification
campaign against the Prime Minister and the Centre when
assembly polls are round the corner, he said.
If the Chief Minister had any grievances, he should have
brought it to the notice of the authorities concerned in a
proper manner instead of launching a politically-motivated
campaign, the Congress leader added.
