Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress party in
Kerala would take up Gandhian model agitation against
`increasing` extremist activities in the state, KPCC president
Ramesh Chennithala said today.
Speaking to reporters, here he said Congress had never
allied with communal forces like Popular Front and PDP, while
CPI(M) had struck alliance with PDP in the last elections and
shared a common platform with them.
The ruling LDF was now disowning the same forces they had
allied with for political gains, he said.
Chennithala said the Congress would hold conventions and
`padayatras` in all districts from August 15 to 19 against
extremism. The campaign would continue for a month, he said.
The election of DCC presidents would be held along with
the KPCC president election as consensus could not be evolved
in some districts, Chennithala said.
