Kochi: The bail granted to Controversial
Godman, Santosh Madhavan, on medical grounds, has been
extended till March 7 by the Kerala High court on Monday.

Madhavan, who is undergoing 16 years RI in connection with
the rape of two minor girls, was earlier granted interim bail
till today for undergoing treatment. He moved another petition
today seeking extension of bail.
Justice K Hema, also directed the accused to undergo
medical examination before a medical board to ascertain if he
needs further treatment or bed rest.

The troubles of Madhavan, known as swami Amritha
chaitanya among his disciples, began when an NRI woman lodged
a police complaint saying that he had defrauded her of rs 45
lakh in 2008.
As investigations against him progressed, it came to light
that he had allegedly raped some young girls and minors who
were the inmates of the orphanage he was running for poor
children. He was arrested on May 13, 2008 and sentenced to 16
years RI on two counts for rape of 2 minor girls.

He was in custody since his rest with High court and
Supreme court turning down his plea for bail. Madhavan was
granted bail last week by the high court to undergo Angiogram
at thiruvananthapuram.
