Thrissur (Kerala): A 4-year-old kindergarten student was kidnapped from near her school at Chalakudy near here on Friday morning and was found abandoned on the outskirts of the district hours later.
Anushree, who reached the school in a bus, was abducted in a car by a gang in front of her school at around 9.30am, police said.
The child's father was allegedly contacted by the abductors who first demanded Rs 15 lakh and later scaled down to Rs seven lakh to release the child, police said.
Hours after the abduction, the kid was found in front of the Thiruvillwamalai St George school and was brought by the police to Chalakudy.
She was later on handed over to her parents.
