Malappuram: After three years of courtship
over the internet, hearing and speech impaired Mohammed Jasim,
a local, is seeking to tie the knot with his equally disabled
Chinese lover who rushed to meet him after she learned that he
had an accident.

It was the first time 34-year-old Yi Yan Yun, hailing from
Shogon province, who flew in here on April 5,was meeting her
love in Kerala, sources close to Jasim said.

Yun, here on a visiting visa, was relieved to know that
26-year-old Jasim, who had an accident last month while riding
a two-wheeler and being treated at a hospital, did not suffer
any major injury, sources said.

The sources said Jasim befriended Yun, deaf and dumb from
birth, while chatting through the internet at nearby
Kunnamkulam after he completed his matriculation some three
years ago.

The friendship later developed into love. Yun, an active
functionary of an association seeking to work for the uplift
of the hearing impaired in her native place, helped Jasim set
up an internet facility at his home to continue their
relationship. Both families have agreed to their marriage,
sources close to Jasim said.

Jasim has applied under provisions of special marriage
act to enter into wedlock with Yun and will have to wait
at least a month. But the problem is Yun`s visa expires on
April 29 following which she would have to leave the
country, the sources said.

Yun is even prepared to take Jasim to China, they said,
adding, efforts are being made to facilitate the marriage.
