Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister
Oommen Chandy today ordered a vigilance probe into
appointments to the handicapped quota in Wayanad district
based on fake certificates.
The order was issued on the basis of a complaint made
by the Handicapped Association, an official press release
said.
The Association had alleged that several people obtained
jobs in government quota by producing bogus certificates of
physical handicap. In subsequent medical examination, it was
found that they did not suffer from any physical handicap.
Though the district administration had said those who
secured jobs through fraudulent means would be terminated,
they continued to be in service.
