Kerala Cong(M) leader Lukose passes away

Lukose died at a private hospital in Monippally yesterday
due to old age, family sources said.

He was 79 and is survived by wife and four children.

He became a member of legislative assembly, representing
Ettumanoor constitutency from 1982-87.He was instrumental in
setting up Mahatma Gandhi university here and became its
syndicate member.

Starting his career as a teacher, Lukose became president
of Kerala Congress Kottayam district and later its state
general secretary.

The funeral will be held at Uzhavoor here on Mar 15.
