Thiruvananthapuram: Amid differences continued
in Congress led UDF opposition in Kerala over merger Kerala
Congress (Joseph) with one of its constituent Kerala Congress
(M) KC-M leader K M Mani Tuesday justified the merger and said
`time will cure the disagreement`.

Admitting that there was difference between his party
and Congress over the issue, Mani said the row was due to some
`unfortunate misunderstanding`.

Discussion on the matter at a recently held UDF liaison
committee meeting had failed.

He rejected the CPI-M allegation that Church took
initiative in bringing the two KCs together.

Joseph, against whom UDF had levelled corruption charges,
quit LDF and his party merged with KC-M lst month holding that
unity of different factions of Kerala Congress was the guiding
principle for their merger.

However, Congress had opposed the merger from the start
itself. Congress see it as a move of KC-M, one of main
regional party of Kerala, to cliam more seats in Assembly
elections next year.

Mani maintained that it was not necessary to discuss the
issue in UDF and with Congress. But Congress was of the view
that `merger issue` have to be agreed by all partners in the
UDF after a discussion.
