New Delhi: To attract more foreign tourists
into the state, the Kerala government will launch a global
publicity campaign in London at the end of this month.

The campaign would start with the screening of a new
advertisement film showcasing the tourism potential of the
state, which is often described as `God`s Own Country`.

"The Kerala tourism campaign will also roll out in other
major markets in Europe, including Germany, France, Italy,
Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland," Kerala
Tourism Department said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the new ad film is directed by film maker
Prakash Varma, better known for his Vodafone Zoo Zoo
advertisements.

According to the statement, the ad film would be shown at
cinema halls in the UK that are screening the movie `Eat Pray
Love`. The Julia Roberts-starrer tale is based on the real
life story of how an American divorcee and writer spent a year
travelling in India and Italya, among others, seeking
spiritual bliss.

Going by estimates, as many as 6.5 lakh foreigners visit
Kerala every year.
