Thiruvananthapuram: Ruling Left Democratic
Front in Kerala on Tuesday failed to take a decision on admitting
the P C Thomas faction of Kerala Congress into its fold, as it
faced resistance from coalition partners CPI and RSP.
CPI argued that Indian National League and NCP, who are
now with the ruling Front, should also be included before
deciding on the P C Thomas faction.
The Thomas faction split from Kerala Congress-J, now with
the Opposition UDF after merging with Kerala Congress-M.
RSP also said the question of INL and NCP should be
considered, after which the meeting deferred a decision on the
Congress-S, another minor partner in the Front, protested
against the entry of NCP, which is now a splinter group of the
party. With the strong resistance from partners, the Front
meeting could not take any decision, LDF sources said.
