Kannur: An NCC cadet, who suffered bullet injury in an accident during a firing practice at a NCC camp here in September, has died at a military hospital in Bangalore where he was undergoing treatment.

The body of the 19-year-old cadet M Anas, who died on Thursday, was brought to the Medical College Hospital at Kozhikode to conduct post-mortem today, officials said, adding, the body would be later taken to his home town Kurilad.

A bullet fired by another cadet hit the ground, rebounded and hit Anas, an undergraduate student of a local college in Kannur district during a training camp on September 10.

As a humanitarian move, the Kerala government had decided to bear all the treatment expenses after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy visited Anas at the military hospital last month.
