'No complaint to central leadership on VS'

Kannur: CPI(M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday said the party's state committee had not complained to the Central leadership about senior leader V S Achuthanandan's public postures on some issues and termed reports in this regard as 'a creation of the media.'

"Reports that the CPI(M) state committee has given a complaint to the central leadership is a creation of the media," he told reporters here.

Vijayan said CPI(M) takes a very serious view of leakage of party deliberations to media, "most of which are incorrect." The CPI(M), he said, was probing the sources of such leakage.

Vijayan said LDF would hold a state-wide agitation from August 29, demanding resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the wake of a Vigilance court order to investigate his role in the palmolein oil import deal.

He said Deputy leader of CPI(M) in the assembly Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's statement demanding that Chandy relinquish the vigilance portfolio had not caused any confusion. He had demanded chandy's resignation on the same day, he said.

Vijayan said expelled leader 'Berlin' Kunhananthan Nair is not a CPI(M) worker and the party has no connection with him,

Achuthanandan's recent visit to Nair's home at Kanhangad and his stand on disciplinary action against party workers in Kasaragod, who organised demonstrations in his favour after being denied a ticket to contest the assembly poll initially had caused much heartburn to the party leadership.
