Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister
VS Achuthanandan on Wednesday said he did not receive any report
regarding the legal hurdles on conducting a vigilance inquiry
into alleged amassing of wealth by PV Sreenijan, son-in-law
of former CJI KG Balakrishan.

"I did not receive any information," was the curt reply
of Achuthanandan when reporters sought his reaction to the
the opinion of legal advisor to vigilance on unviability
of ordering a probe into allegations against Sreenijan.

Legal advisor to Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB)
had on Monday conveyed to the Home Department that Sreenijan
would not come under the definition of public servant under
the Prevention of Corruption Act .

Achtuthanandan had last week recommended
such a probe following he getting a private complaint.

Chief Minister`s recommendation was referred to VACB`s
legal advisor to examine the legal feasibility of the possible
inquiry against Sreenijan.

A former vice president of the state Youth Congress and who
unsuccessfully contested the last Assembly polls from
Njarakkal segment in Erakulam district, resigned the primary
membership of the Youth Congress last week after coming under
the cloud of allegations.
