Kottayam: Bharatiya Janata Party state
vice-president K R Pratapachandra Varma has reiterated that
the party will not have any understanding with any other
political party in the coming local body elections.

If the party has any understanding with any politcal party
it will be open, Varma told presspersons here yesterday.

He said BJP will support independent candidates in wards
where there are no nominees of its own.

The party would oppose LDF and UDF and work towards
defeating its candidates in the election, BJP district
president Ettumanoor Radhakrishnan said.

To a query, he said the allegation that BJP has tie-up
with Kerala Congress in some pockets was baseless.

The party released the list of 14 candidates to the
23-member Kottayam district panchayat election.
