Kochi: Kerala Advocate General CP Sudhakara
Prasad on Thursday issued notices to Congress MP K Sudhakaran and
Ganesh Kumar, an MLA, for allegedly making derogatory remarks
against Supreme Court judges at a public meeting.

The Advocate General asked both of them to appear before
him on March 16 either in person or through their counsel.

The notice was issued on a petition seeking sanction to
initiate contempt proceedings against Sudhakaran and Ganesh
Kumar for their remarks against the judges during a meeting in
Kottarakkara on February 12 after the apex court sentenced
former Kerala Minister R Balakrishna Pillai to one year
rigorous imprisonment in the Idamalayar dam case.

Sudhakaran had said that he was witness to a judge being
bribed apparently for getting a favourable decision in a case
seeking restoration of bar licences cancelled by the Kerala
High Court.

Ganesh Kumar is the son of Balakrishna Pillai.

The petition was filed by C I Edison of Thrissur.
