Poonthura Siraj resigns from PDP

Siraj said though he had obeyed all instructions of Madani during the 16 years when he was in the PDP, he could not now do so due to `personal reasons.`

Thiruvananthapuram: Former working chairman of the Peoples` Democratic Party (PDP), who was reinstated to the party recently by PDP chairman Abul Nasser Madani, on Saturday said he had decided to resign from all positions including the
primary membership of the party.

Talking to reporters here, he cited personal reasons for the decision.

Siraj, who was suspended a few months back for anti-party activities, was reinstated recently as central committee member and general convenor for the coming elections by Madani, now jailed in Bangalore in connection with the
Coimbatore blasts case.

Siraj said though he had obeyed all instructions of Madani during the 16 years when he was in the PDP, he could not now do so due to `personal reasons.`
