Rajnath Singh to campaign in Kerala for two days from today

New Delhi: In a bid to woo voters ahead of Kerala Assembly Election 2016, Home Minister Rajnath Singh will address a series of election meetings in Kerala for two days beginning Friday.

The senior BJP leader will campaign for party candidates in Chathannoor and Kunnathur in Kollam district, Attingal, Nedumangad and Vattiyoorkavu in Thiruvananthapuram.

Election to the 140-member Kerala Assembly will take place on May 16.

The BJP has fielded 97 candidates to contest the polls.

The BJP had on Thursday constituted a three-member committee to look into "growing atrocities" against Dalit women in Kerala and its members will be visiting the families of victims in the coming days.

A Dalit woman, who was a law student, was raped and murdered on April 28 in the state, leading to a sharp attack against the ruling UDF by BJP.
