Kochi: Kerala High court today granted
permission to the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), which
administers the hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala, to
invite tenders to instal closed circuit televisions in the
temple complex.

The direction in this regard was issued by a division
bench comprising justice C N Ramachandran Nair and Justice P S
Gopinathan on a petition by the TDB seeking permission to
instal the close circuit televisions.

The TDB proposal is for police to monitor security to
ensure that all pilgrims are properly managed and temple
authorities were attending to their responsibilities.

The bench held that it was important to have sufficient
number of closed circuit TVs in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum
to ensure devotees get darshan.
