Slain CPIM worker`s widow moves HC for `meaningful probe`
The petitioner, Fazal`s wife Mariyu, submitted that the CBI investigating the case was not taking steps to find out the deeper conspiracy.
Kochi: Kerala High Court was on Tuesday moved for a direction to the state government to conduct an `effective and meaningful` probe to bring out all conspirators involved in
the murder of former CPI-M worker Mohammed Fazal in 2006 at Thalassery in Kannur District.
The petitioner, Fazal`s wife Mariyu, submitted that the CBI investigating the case was not taking steps to find out the deeper conspiracy and conspirators at higher levels behind the October 22, 2006 murder.
The `pressure tactics` by the CPI(M) was confining the investigation into a certain level leaving out the real conspirators, she alleged.
The petitioner also alleged that former state Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was privy to the conspiracy to the murder of her husband. Immediately after the murder he had declared that the murder was by RSS workers.
The petition is likely to come up tomorrow.
The prosecution case was that a group of assailants had attacked Fazal, who switched over to the NDF, and killed him. Among the eight accused, six have been arrested so far.
