Kochi: The Special Tribunal for Prevention of
Unlawful Activities on Tuesday recorded statements of Kerala Police
officials about training camps organised by the banned SIMI in
in Wagamon and Panayaikulam in the state.
The tribunal headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna of Delhi
High court recorded statement from T K Vinodkumar, Head of
Joint Investigation Team, which probed SIMI`s training camp
activities.

The tribunal has been constituted to adjudicate if there
was sufficient cause for declaring an organisation unlawful or
not. The Centre had in February extended the ban on SIMI by
another two years, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention)
Act.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials, probing
various terror-related cases in Kerala, also presented their
evidence before the tribunal, official sources said.
