Two family courts to be opened in the state

Kerala cabinet on Wednesday accorded administrative sanction to open family courts - one at Muvatupuzha and another at Irijalakuda-- Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said.



Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala cabinet on Wednesday accorded administrative sanction to open family courts - one at Muvatupuzha and another at Irijalakuda-- Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said.

Talking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, Chandy said steps to set up the courts would be taken in consultation with the High Court.

The cabinet decided to increase the pension of workers in Khadi and Hindi promotion from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000, he said.
This pension was introduced in 1995 after inviting applications at that time, he said adding no new applications would be entertained on this.
