Kozhikode: About 350 grams of heroin worth over Rs 35 lakh were seized from a lodge here and arrested two youths for possessing the narcotic substance, official sources said here Thursday.
On a tip off, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials raided the lodge and arrested Kamal Singh and Dileep Singh, native of Madhya Pradesh, for possessing heroin,
the sources said.
The substance was found concealed in special cavities inside their shoes and the duo admitted of resorting such modus operandi while smuggling it to abroad earlier, the sources said.
The youth, arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, confessed that the drug was being smuggled from Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh, they said.
