Kerala Home Minister and CPI-M Polit Bureau member Kodiyeri Balakrihshnan on Saturday said the Congress-led UDF in Kerala was trying to gain power with the support of certain communal and fundamentalist forces in the state.

Palakkad: Kerala Home Minister and CPI-M Polit Bureau member Kodiyeri Balakrihshnan on Saturday said the Congress-led UDF in Kerala was trying to gain power with the support of certain communal and fundamentalist forces in the state.
He was addressing a public meeting organised by the CPI-M
to pledge solidarity with the Left Front Government in West
Bengalin its fight against Maoists and Trinamul Congress.

Balakrisnan sought to know if the UDF was ready to publicly
state that it would not receive any kind of support from
radical outfits like Popular Front of India in the coming
civic polls in Kerala.
Ever since the LDF Government came to power in Kerala, the
UDF had sought the support of certain communal elements to
destabilise the government, he said.

Balakrishnan said it was strange that Congress leader
Rahul Gandhi did not say anything against the violence
indulged in by the Maoists in West Bengal during his recent
visit to Kolkota.
