Coimbatore: Kerala Governor P Sathasivam today said he had asked his Secretary and ADC to not be too particular about protocol so as to enable him to interact more with the public.

Speaking at the launch of the silver jubilee celebrations of Gem Hospital here, Sathasivam said, "I have told my security to allow me to spend more time with the public."

The former Chief Justice of Supreme Court said that when he received an e-mail some 10 days back from the chairman of the hospital inviting him to attend the celebration, his secretary had objected, saying he has to to do several checks in keeping with the protocol.

"However, I told him nothing doing. I know the person (hospital's chairman) and I have trust in him and there would be no security threat," he said.

Sathasivam added that he was very punctual in Supreme Court and would take his chair by 10.29 A.M. After going through the files with six registrars.
