Govt plans to re-discover Shimla`s pride with public support Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government on Sunday launched a heritage tourism scheme under which data would be collected from public on the historical importance of structures in the capital city.

The information, mainly sought from people residing at pre-Independent era houses, would be made part of tourism literature for attracting travellers to the Himalayan state, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said after launch of 'Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai' scheme on the World Tourism Day.

After compiling of inputs, infrastructure development would be carried out at such structures to improve accessibility. Plaques would be installed outside these houses with brief description on its historical facts, an official release said.

Shimla is historically important on account of its pre-Independence era status as the summer capital of British India.
