Royal train to Rajasthan Wi-Fi, satellite TV linked New Delhi: Passengers onboard the 'Royal Rajasthan on Wheels' can now be connected with the rest of the world while on the move as the luxury train has been equipped with wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) system and satellite television.

Announcing this, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation CMD Manjeet Singh told reporters here that the train, which was flagged off from Safdarjung railway station today for its first commercial trip of this year, includes several other new attractions for passengers like cultural programmes, and food served at five star hotels.

The new arrangements will ensure that passengers can see more sites than what was possible earlier. "The basic idea behind introduction the new attractions in the royal train is to give value to the money of passengers," Singh said.

There are plans to introduce spa facility also in the luxury train in next four months," he added.

During its week-long trip, the luxury train will cover Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Bharatpur and Agra, and will return to Delhi on October 25, Singh said.

A special concessional tariff on its fare has been offered to passengers this time following the market emerging from the economic slowdown, he said.

The fare, which was USD 2500 per suit per night, is now USD 1600. The fare, which was USD 1200 per pax per night for single supplement, is now USD 825.

Singh said that it was also decided to change the route of the 'Royal Rajasthan on Wheels' from 2010 "keeping in mind the interest of tourists who wants to visit maximum places in their one week trip".

"We will have plans to include heritage cities like Varanasi and Khajuraho also in our trips," Singh said.

The route of the royal train will then be Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittaurgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Agra from New Delhi.

Apart from this, the royal train will also be run on 'golden triangle' route covering Delhi, Jaipur and Agra, he said.
