Shimla, June 01: Stage is set for the five-day
international Shimla summer festival beginning on Monday, even
as the temperature in the hill station scaled unprecedented
notches this season.
Governor VS Kokje will inaugurate the festival at
Historic Ridge Maidan, Shimla Deputy Commissioner JS Rana
told agencies today.
Bollywood singer Javed Ali and Punjabi singers Hans
Raj Hans and Mohit Chauhan are likely to perform in the
carnival, he said.
Besides Anamika and Rohan Preet of Zee TV's little
champs show and Poonam of 'Voice of India', a large number of
artistes from the state would showcase their talents.
Security has been enhanced for the event, which has
been celebrated annually for about four decades now, Rana
added.
