Melbourne: Sydney has been voted as the Best City in the World for the eighth consecutive year in a poll by a renowned travel magazine.
More than 25,000 readers of US magazine Conde Nast Traveller chose Australia’s largest city as their favourite.
The Harbour City piped San Francisco, Paris, Rome and Melbourne on a variety of criteria, including ambience, friendliness, culture and sights, restaurants, lodging and shopping.
”Visitors obviously enjoyed the very best of Sydney including our laid-back lifestyle, our iconic attractions and the beauty of our natural environment,” News.com.au quoted New South Wales Tourism Minister Jodi McKay as saying.
”This reward is a fantastic honour for the States tourism and hospitality sector and confirms what many residents already know – that Sydney is the best city in the world,” she added.
