Indore: Twenty five students of a government school in Dharampuri village in the district were on Tuesday hospitalised as they complained of health problems after consuming food under the mid-day meal scheme.

"A couple of hours after having their mid-day meal containing kheer-puri and aloo-chana, the children complained of colic and started vomiting," a doctor at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Sanver said.

The children were immediately rushed to the Sanver PHC. Their condition is now stable, he said.

Sanver MLA Rajesh Sonkar visited the health centre and enquired about the condition of the affected children.

The food samples of the mid-day meal have been sent for laboratory tests, he said.

The MLA sought a "high level inquiry" into the incident and stated that the guilty should be punished.
