The BJP MLA from Bijawar in Chhatarpur district has been
absconding since the case was registered against her along
with her husband, former MLA Ashok Veer Vikram Singh, in
connection with the murder of her maid, Tijji Bai early this
The murder took place on May 21, 2005 at her residence in
Bhopal. But there was no mention of her in the original case.
She, along with her husband, was shown as an accused after the
case was reopened few months ago.
The court had rejected her anticipatory bail application
earlier as well following which she had approached the Supreme
Court, but did not get any relief. Later, she filed a fresh
application again in the high court.
Rejecting her application, Justice N K Gupta said that
there was no change in the situation since her first plea was
rejected on the issue and therefore it would not be proper on
the part of the court to intervene in the matter.
Ashok Veer Vikram Singh is already in jail in connection
with another murder case that of his niece Vasundhara Bundela.
