Badwah (MP): Union minister of state for telecommunication Sachin Pilot on Sunday accused BJP and Shiv Sena of trying to create a communal divide in the country.

"BJP and the Shiv Sena have formed organisations which are fomenting communalism in the country even as the UPA government is implementing various welfare schemes for the poor," he said while addressing an election meeting on the last day of campaigning for the June 12 bypoll to Maheshwar assembly constituency.

The byelection was necessitated after BJP MLA Vijay Lakshmi Sadhu`s elevation to Rajya Sabha. BJP`s Rajkumar and Congress` Devendra Sadhu are in the fray for the assembly seat.

Madhya Pradesh state unit Congress president Kantilal Bhuria and the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ajay Singh accompanied Pilot on his whirlwind electioneering tour in Khargone district.
