The MP Cabinet Tuesday granted approval to an amendment bill to remove disparities in the bills about salaries to Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of the Opposition and Ministers.

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Tuesday
granted approval to an amendment bill to remove disparities in
the bills passed during the last session of the State Assembly
about salaries to Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of the
Opposition and Ministers.

Briefing reporters about the meeting earlier in the
day, State Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Narottam Mishra
told reporters that on the last day of the budget session,
bills had been passed amending acts governing the Speaker,
Deputy Speaker, Leader of the Opposition and Ministers.

The Minister said following the passage of the bills,
two disparities had been found and these would be removed
through the amended bill which was approved today and which
will be presented in the State assembly during its next
session.

Mishra said that as per the first disparity, the
allowances given to the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Leader of
the Opposition were increased from April 27, 2010 while the
allowances given to Ministers were increased from March 26,
2010.

He said that as per the second disparity, a difference
had occurred between the salaries of Speaker, Deputy Speaker
and Leader of the Opposition and Ministers.

The amended bill seeks to remove these disparities,
Mishra said.
