‘Charges against former Kisan Sangh head baseless’

Bharatiya Kisan Sangh ex-president Shiv Kumar Sharma`s daughter Avantika Sharma Wednesday blamed the state government for following "politics of vendetta" against him.

Bhopal: Bharatiya Kisan Sangh ex-president Shiv Kumar Sharma`s daughter Avantika Sharma Wednesday blamed the state government for following "politics of vendetta" against him even as he only wanted to highlight the flaws in policies.
Sharma was jailed earlier this month after a farmer died in police firing at Bareli in Raisen district on May seven, during a protest organised by the Kisan Sangh.
Coming down upon the BJP government, she said whatever her father had done was right and the saffron party knows the truth. She said the Kisan Sangh had always worked in conjunction with the BJP and RSS and it was strange that the two organisations were levelling charges against him.

Avantika also said her father could not be removed from the post of president of the Kisan Sangh without a meeting of general gody of the organisation. Because of this, the present removal of Sharma from the post was unconstitutional, she added.
