Chouhan meets PC; urges nod on anti-graft Bil

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to obtain Centres` approval for the enanctment of Special Courts Bill.

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to obtain Centres` approval for the enanctment of
a `Special Courts Bill` in his state.

The Bill aims to tackle corruption by creation of special
courts in the state which will decide cases related to
corruption in a period of one year, beginning from the period
they are filed in the courts.

The CM also told Chidambaram that the Bill will ensure
that corruption cases are mandatorily filed by prosecuting
agencies in these courts within a period of one year, and once
enacted, the Bill has special provisions to seize and deliver
quick punishment to people found guilty in these cases.
According to sources, the Home Minister who met Singh at
his office in North Block, assured him of all possible help
in this regard.
