Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch three Central schemes - an accidental cover, a life insurance and a pension scheme, in the state on Saturday.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch three Central schemes - an accidental cover, a life insurance and a pension scheme, in the state on Saturday.

Chouhan will launch the 'Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna', 'Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna' and 'Atal Pension Yojna' in the presence of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, an official release said on Thursday.

The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna provides risk cover for accidental death and full disability. It will be available to people in the age group of 18 to 70 years with savings bank account.

However, if someone has accounts in various banks, they can avail the scheme only through one bank account and the Aadhaar would be the primary identity verification document for the bank account, it said.

Under the scheme, every member would deposit a premium of Rs 12 per annum. In case of accidental death, the kin of the deceased will be given Rs two lakh. The scheme will also provide Rs two lakh insurance cover in case of total and irrecoverable loss of both eyes or loss of both hands (becoming incapable).

Besides, Rs one lakh will be given on total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye or a hand or foot becoming incapable, it said.

Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna, all savings bank account holders in the 18-50 age group in participating banks will be entitled to join the scheme.

Insurance cover will also be available under the scheme in case of death for any reason. The insured persons will have to deposit premium of Rs 330 per member per annum. Also, Rs two lakh is payable on a member's death due to any reason.

Besides, the Atal Pension Yojna has been introduced to provide assured income to old age group to workers in unorganised sector. They will get pension benefit after 60 years of age.

Pension ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 will be provided if a member contributes to the scheme between 18-40 years of age. Subscriptions will be different at various levels. It would be less if a person joins the scheme early and more if he joins late, it added.
