Congress gears up to make MP bandh successful

Congress will observe a bandh in Madhya Pradesh tomorrow demanding a CBI probe into the murder of IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh.

Bhopal: Congress will observe a bandh in Madhya Pradesh tomorrow demanding a CBI probe into the murder of IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh, allegedly by the mining mafia in Morena district.
"We have conducted several rounds of meeting with party members to ensure the success of the bandh. District chiefs too have held meetings in their respective districts and issued necessary instructions to the partymen," MPCC Media Committee Chairman Manak Agrawal said here on Monday.
The call for bandh was given by the state unit Congress president Kantilal Bhuria and Opposition Leader Ajay Singh.

Besides a CBI probe, the Congress also wants rollback of five per cent VAT imposed on power, sugar and cloth in the state.

Agarwal, however, said that health, education and transport services will be spared from the bandh which will be observed till 3 PM in the entire state.

The Congress Legislature Party will also raise the issue of the IPS officer`s murder in the Legislative Assembly tomorrow during the ongoing Budget Session, he said.

The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has already ordered a judicial probe into the killing of the 30-year-old officer who was mowed down by a tractor-trolley allegedly laden with illegally mined stones at Ban more town on March 8.
