Indore: Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton relay was accorded a warm welcome here on Thursday on its arrival from Ratlam.
The baton was received by international wrestler Pappu Yadav, Madhya Pradesh Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya and State Olympic Association President, Ramesh Mendola among others at the Lantern Square.
Large number of people showered flower petals en route to welcome the baton while it passed through important landmarks of the city. Various cultural programmes were also held on the occasion.
The baton which entered Madhya Pradesh via Ratlam will traverse through Dewas, Sehore, Bhopal Guna, Shivpuri, Datia and Gwalior to enter Uttar Pradesh on September 20.
The Baton will begin its onward journey from Indore tomorrow and reach Bhopal by evening.
