Khargone (MP): Hours after more than ten per cent power tariff hike was announced in Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries Arun Yadav on Tuesday said that the rise will compound problems of the people, especially farmers across the state.
"The problems of the people, especially farmers will
compound following the hike in power tariff," Yadav told
reporters at his native district here.
The power hike will add to the woes of the farmers
already facing the power and water shortage, he said.
The BJP had promised to supply 18 hours power daily to
the farmers before the state assembly elections but instead it
was providing just two hours electricity for agriculture
purpose, Yadav said.
The farmers were getting inflated electricity bills
instead of power in Madhya Pradesh, the Minister added.
