Former Bhopal MP commits suicide

Former Madhya Pradesh ex-MP Sushil Chandra Verma allegedly committed suicide Thursday evening by jumping from the roof of his house.

Thursday evening by jumping from the roof of his house, police
said.
He was rushed to Hamidia hospital where he died during
the treatment. He was in his eighties.

Verma, a BJP member, represented Bhopal in the Lok Sabha
for four terms between 1989 to 2003.

Senior Superintendent of Police Yogesh Choudhary said
that Verma was suffering from depression for a long time.
Choudhary said a suicide note was found, where Verma
mentions that he was taking his own life as he was sick and
depressed.
