Four inmates escape from MP jail

Jhabua (MP): Four inmates escaped from the
District Jail here on Saturday after attacking the jail guard,
sources said.

The incident took place around 12 noon when guards were
to shift their duties, Jail Superintendent Manoj Kumar Sahu

Some persons carrying pistols and swords came to meet
the prisoners and managed to hand over these weapons to the
jail inmates. The inmates then attacked Jail Guard Onkar Sehto
with a sword and fled.
The prisoners who escaped have been identified as Velu,
Sadhu, Amar and Jairam, he said adding Velu was a convict
while three others were undertrials.

One more prisoner also tried to flee and fired from a
pistol but was apprehended, Sahu said adding a case has been
registered in the matter.
